The Breaking Dawn novel was released in 2008. The book is broken down into three parts. Part one tells us about Bella’s honeymoon and marriage to Edward. The honeymoon is spent on a private island off the coast of Brazil. Bella becomes pregnant with a part human, and part vampire child. Edward wants Bella to have an abortion, but Bella refuses. Part two of the novel is written from character Jacob Black’s point of view. The pregnancy which has progressed at a remarkably accelerated rate is born. Bella loses a great amount of blood and her life is in danger. Edward saves her life by injecting his venom into her heart, and therefore turns her into a vampire.
Part three of the Breaking Dawn trailer and novel swings to Bella’s perspective. Now a vampire, Bella enjoys her new life, and new talents. However, her new daughter, Renesmee is considered an immortal child. The creation of such children is not allowed. The child is marked for destruction, while other vampire clans are gathered to prove the child is not immortal. Eventually, Renesmee, Bella, and Edward live their lives in peace.
The name Breaking Dawn is meant to illustrate Bella’s new life as a vampire. Bella in the first novel is portrayed as weak, but in the Breaking Dawn Trailer she ends up being the strongest. While Renesmee is a unique name, the author wrote that she could not name the child a human name, and therefore made up her own name.
In 2009, a special edition of Breaking Dawn was released. A special DVD was included with the book containing an interview with Stephenie Meyer along with the Breaking Dawn concert series. Breaking Dawn was the most popular children book of 2008 and sold over 6 million copies. When the book was first released 1.3 million copies were sold in the first twenty-four hours, illustrating the enormous anticipation of the Breaking Dawn trailer.
